Winter Specials available on selected days between November and February
- contact the Secretary for availability and details.
Societies will be accepted Monday to Friday inclusive subject to availability
and club commitments. The minimum number of players is 12 and the maximum
60, a lesser or greater group to be agreed with the Secretary. Please note
that Societies wishing to play on a Friday and then dine afterwards in
the evening are restricted to a maximum of 20.
Please telephone the office no later than 48 hrs prior to your booking
with final numbers
The Society Organiser must report to the Secretary's Office on arrival.
If the Secretary is unavailable please report to the Pro Shop. Any outstanding
payments for the day must be made prior to the start of play unless by
prior arrangement with Secretary. Players must be changed and ready well
before their appointed start.
Please note that payment must be by either cash or cheque. We do not accept
credit cards.
Tee reservations
All times must be agreed with the Secretary in advance. No delay to reserved
tee times is permitted due to frost or poor weather, unless the course
is closed for play.
Play is restricted to 2 or 3 ball stableford or match play formats only.
Medal play or Texas scramble is not permitted unless with the express prior
permission of the Secretary and then dependant on the day and time of play.
Any change to the format must be agreed in advance with the Secretary.
Starting times for your player's should be arranged as follows:
· 2 ball - 5 minute intervals
· 3 ball - 7 minute intervals
· 4 ball - 8 minute intervals
We suggest that you put your low handicap players out first amongst your
society.
Please ensure that your group is aware of the Par 3 'call up' holes and
abide by this local rule.
Alresford is a course for golfers who have some proficiency in the game
and organisers are advised that players of insufficient ability can cause
a problem. We would therefore recommend that all golfers will have acquired a basic proficiency in the game and be aware of and demonstrate expected levels of etiquette and behaviour on the course.
Use of Trolleys
Wide-wheeled trolleys are permitted at most times but may be banned during
periods of frost or prolonged wet weather. Players must therefore be prepared
to carry should this be the case. The Course Information telephone line
will give updated information on any trolley restrictions.
Trolleys and electrical trolleys may be hired from the golf shop.
Privately owned buggies are only allowed if permission has been obtained
from the Secretary in advance. Please check with us prior to your day as
we do restrict the numbers on the course. No trolley is allowed to cross
the white lines in front of the greens!
Golf Shop
Our Club Professional, Malcolm Scott, and his team can give assistance
during the day, including tuition, and would be pleased to supply prizes
for your competitions from his well stocked shop. For further information
please ring 01962 733998.
Closest the pin and longest drive markers are available from the Pro Shop
on request.
Dress Rules
APPROPRIATE DRESS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES
On the course
A good standard of dress is expected. Jeans, track suits or collar-less
shirts are not allowed. Golf shoes are always required. Men's shorts must
be tailored and worn with short white sports or knee length socks. Ladies
are allowed tailored shorts and short socks.
In the clubhouse
Smart casual wear is accepted at most times but this does not include tracksuits,
trainers, jeans or caps. Golf shoes are only allowed in the entrance hall
and in the changing rooms. Shoes must be worn in the bar, lounge and dining
rooms at all times.
NO TRAINERS to be worn in the clubhouse.
Muddy or wet golf clothing is not acceptable in the bar or lounge, so if
the weather is inclement please bring a change of clothes. Society members
are required to change out of their golf attire when eating in dining room
after 6 p.m.
No mobile phones are permitted in the clubhouse or on the course.
Organisers please inform your members of the dress code as a refusal often
offends.
